This is no surprise.

President Trump since the day that the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act has been on record saying he was going to veto the Bill.

Well, he did it!


The reason being is the Defenseive Bill failed to get of Scetion 230(which protects Big Tech) and in the President’s own words it was a “gift to Rusiia and China”.

The news comes just a day after many users on social media including Trump’s attorney Lin Wood told the President to Veto the Bill due to the fact there was a hidden amendment to take away the President’s power to use the Insurrection Act in it.

Fox News covered Trump’s decision to veto the Defense Bill:

President Trump vetoed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 Wednesday, calling it a “gift” to U.S. adversaries China and Russia and making good on a promise to veto if it did not repeal a law that shields certain Big Tech companies from liabilities.

“My Administration recognizes the importance of the Act to our national security,” the president wrote to House members after vetoing the bill. “Unfortunately, the Act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my Administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions.”

In his letter, he singled out Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act as a reason for the veto, arguing that failing to terminate it “will make our intelligence virtually impossible to conduct.”

President Donald Trump vetoed the $740 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Wednesday, priming both chambers of Congress to return after Christmas to vote to override his move.

This is the first time Trump has vetoed the annual defense policy legislation since taking office, and Wednesday was the last day he had to reject it before it became law without his signature.

The president indicated he was unhappy with the bill’s details. He said he was returning it without his approval because it was a “gift” to Russia and China since it failed to include “critical” national security measures and was contrary to his administration’s efforts to put America first.
