Israeli strikes hit Beirut’s southern suburb, targeting Hezbollah sites

Israeli air strikes have hit Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold, with explosions seen live on air.
The Israeli army has threatened a series of attacks across Lebanon, singling out branches of al-Qard al-Hassan, a financial institution linked to Hezbollah.
Hundreds of thousands of residents have fled since the early hours, leaving parts of Dahyeh and towns in southern Lebanon largely empty.
More than 30 people have been killed since Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets towards Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
Israel says it is intensifying its campaign against Hezbollah and expects several days of fighting.
Hezbollah has so far remained silent on reported targeted killings of senior members.
There are growing fears in Lebanon that the violence could escalate further, with no clear sign of containment.
