Một bài toán của học sinh tiểu học tưởng như quá đơn giản nhưng nó lại đang gây tranh cãi. Mỹ đã cho thấy những lý lẽ riêng để giáo dục thế hệ tương lai hiểu đúng về bài toán. Sự thật thì 5x3 không thể bằng 5+5+5?



Phép toán lớp 3 “5x3” được một học sinh diễn giải thành 5+5+5 đã không được giáo viên chấp nhận, mà phải là 3+3+3+3+3.
Hội đồng giáo viên Toán quốc gia (NCTM) của Mỹ đã giải thích tại sao 5x3 không bằng 5+5+5.
Bởi vì theo nghĩa đen 5x3 là “5 nhóm của 3” – cách giúp học sinh hiểu cách phân chia. Đó cũng là điều mà tiêu chuẩn chung đặt mục tiêu. Khi các em nhìn thấy phép toán 5 x ___ = 15, các em sẽ nghĩ “mình cần 5 nhóm của một số nào đó để cho kết quả bằng 15”.
Họ cho rằng cách giải này nhằm giúp học sinh hiểu rõ hơn về vấn đề mà các em đang phải giải quyết.
“Một trong những điều mà chúng tôi đang cố gắng dạy bọn trẻ là trở thành những người giải quyết vấn đề” – bà Diane Briars, chủ tịch NCTM cho hay.
“Chúng tôi muốn các em hiểu các em đang làm gì, chứ không phải là chỉ đưa ra câu trả lời đúng”.
Những tiêu chuẩn chung dành cho môn tiếng Anh và môn Toán đã được áp dụng rộng rãi ở Mỹ. Tiêu chuẩn này cũng chỉ ra mỗi học sinh cần phải biết những gì ở mỗi môn học khi kết thúc một lớp.
Các nhà phê bình cho rằng cách tiếp cận khác biệt này có thể quá khó hiểu với các em, trong khi những người ủng hộ thì tin rằng phương pháp này sẽ có lợi cho các em khi các em phải giải quyết những vấn đề khó khăn hơn.

Ừ , túm lại xuôi ngược gì kết quả giống nhau.....tui mua 5 cái bàn ,thì anh phải giao tui 5 cái, tui không cần biết anh đếm cách nào để giao tui , miễn sao 5 cái tui muốn là được.....nếu tính theo kiểu như tren thì , quá bắt buộc giới trẻ chỉ đi theo 1 con đường , mà không cho đi con đường khác , vậy làm sao giới trẻ phát triển khả năng khác được...." bảo thủ "

You should read, listen and try to get it in your tofu brains. The common core method is try to teach the kids at the younger age to think that way so that when they get older they will be used to the SERIES and MATRIX functions (it will save the teachers lots of time to reteach the students when they are first time introduced to the SERIES and MATRIX functions at the latter time)

It just happens that 5+5+5 = 3+3+3+3+3 in the case above, but the purpose of this is to guide the younger kids to the way of thinking, which they can be prepared for more advanced mathematical levels.

So again, you SHOULD use your brains more ofter, MORON!

3x5 = 5+5+5 còn cái này là 3 số 5

This 5x3 fiasco has nothing to do about Common Core. Common Core is a set of standards, not a curriculum!

1) The student can argue that he is applying higher order mathematics by applying the real number Commutative Laws of Addition and Multiplication --> A+B = B+A and A*B = B*A. Thus, to deduct 1 point has nothing to do with mathematics, but mainly a pedagogical goal. Again, Common Core is a set of standards, not a curriculum! Mathematical Laws are well define and simple. This teacher only obfuscate the student to mathematics due to her own ignorance of mathematics.

2) In as much as series and matrix, mathematics already clearly define these terms mathematically already. One cannot argue against fundamental mathematical laws while in the process of preparing the student, goal wise at the onset at least, for other basic mathematical principles and calculations. This isn't even higher level math, such as abstract algebra or topology, yet. Again, enough with the obfuscation and pedagogical goal!

Thus and for example, Commutative Law of Multiplication is not applicale for real number matrices. As is correct when the student received a -1 for the 4x6 matrix answer --> matrix is row x column format.

5x3 có nghĩa là 5 lần của 3 nên 3+3+3+3+3=15 vậy thì giải thích đúng

5x3 hay 3x5 con số nhỏ , khó mà giải thích được vì ai nghĩ sao cũng được
TLL thí dụ nhé , khi bạn đi mua 1 cái máy giá $123456 và nếu bạn mua 5 cái thì nó sẽ là :
$123456 x 5 = 123456+123456+123456 +123456+123456 = $617280
và dỉ nhiên không phải là
5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5+ ..............tới... .............. 123456 lần .
kết luận rằng 5x3=5+5+5
