Trong một cuộc phỏng vấn gần đây, con trai của biểu tượng quyền anh Mỹ Muhammad Ali cho biết, nếu cha anh c̣n sống, ông sẽ không tán thành phong trào biểu t́nh “Black Lives Matter” (BLM – Cuộc sống của người da đen quan trọng).

Phong trào BLM ban đầu là các cuộc biểu t́nh ôn ḥa để phản đối cái chết của ông George Floyd, một nghi phạm da đen, tử vong v́ bị cảnh sát kẹp cổ. Sau đó các cuộc biểu t́nh trên khắp nước Mỹ xuất hiện các hành vi bạo lực, phá hoại, hôi của và được cho là có sự xúi giục của nhóm cánh tả Antifa, một nhóm mà Tổng thống Trump cảnh báo sẽ dán nhăn “khủng bố”.
Được đặt tên theo cha, anh Muhammad Ali Jr. đă chia sẻ suy nghĩ của anh về phong trào BLM trong một cuộc phỏng vấn với New York Post được công bố hôm 20/6. Anh cho biết nếu cha anh c̣n sống, ông sẽ không thích phong trào BLM: “Có lẽ cha tôi sẽ nói: ‘chúng không là ǵ ngoài lũ quỷ dữ’”.

Anh nói tiếp: “Bố tôi thường nói ‘cuộc sống của mọi người đều quan trọng’. Tôi không nghĩ là ông ấy đồng ư [với BLM]”.
Ali là một người thực hành đức tin Hồi giáo giống cha ḿnh, anh gọi phong trào BLM là một kế hoạch phân biệt chủng tộc.
“Tôi nghĩ chính chúng [BLM] mới là kẻ phân biệt chủng tộc”, anh Ali nói. “Nó không chỉ là cuộc sống của người da đen, cuộc sống của người da trắng, cuộc sống của người Trung Quốc. Mà cuộc sống của tất cả mọi người đều quan trọng. Chúa yêu tất cả mọi người – Ngài không bao giờ bỏ rơi bất cứ ai. Giết người là sai dù đó là ai”.
“Nó [BLM] là một tuyên bố phân biệt chủng tộc. Nó khiến người da đen chống lại những tộc người khác. Nó kích động những thứ phân biệt chủng tộc xảy ra. Tôi căm ghét nó.”
Ảnh chụp màn h́nh video được chia sẻ trên Twitter ngày 22/6/2020, ghi lại cảnh tượng một người đàn ông da đen đánh đập một nhân viên bán hàng da trắng, trong bối cảnh các cuộc biểu t́nh BLM diễn ra tại nhiều nơi ở Mỹ.
“Chúng chẳng khác ǵ những kẻ khủng bố Hồi giáo”, anh Ali nói về những kẻ gây bạo loạn. “Chúng nên nhận được những ǵ chúng xứng đáng. Chúng đă phá hoại các hoạt động kinh doanh, đánh đập những người dân vô tội trong khu phố, đập phá các đồn cảnh sát và cửa hàng. Chúng là những kẻ khủng bố – chúng đang khủng bố cộng đồng. Tôi đồng ư với các cuộc biểu t́nh ôn ḥa, nhưng Antifa, nó muốn giết tất cả mọi người bằng chuyện đó”.
“Đừng mang thứ cống rănh đó đến đây, đừng biến nơi đây [nước Mỹ] thành rác rưởi”, anh thêm. “Các vị có thể phản đối trong ôn ḥa”.

Ali cũng ca ngợi Tổng thống Donald Trump và cho biết rằng người cha là vơ sĩ quyền anh của ḿnh sẽ thích ông Trump.
“Tôi nghĩ ông Trump là một tổng thống tốt. Cha tôi nếu c̣n sống sẽ ủng hộ ông ấy. Ông Trump không phải là người phân biệt chủng tộc. Ông ấy làm việc v́ tất cả mọi người. Đảng Dân chủ mới là những kẻ phân biệt chủng tộc, và không v́ mọi người” anh Ali nói.
Con trai của huyền thoại quyền anh b́nh luận: “Ông Trump tốt hơn nhiều so với Clinton và Obama… Người duy nhất hiện thực hóa những ǵ ông nói ông sẽ làm chính là Donald Trump
