To mark the 46th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and Reunification Day on April 30 and May Day on May 1, Ho Chi Minh City will see fireworks let off in five locations throughout the southern metropolis.
The main firework displays will be let off at high altitudes at the entrance to the Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City and the iconic Landmark 81 skyscraper in Binh Thanh district.
The other three locations for low-altitude fireworks display are Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, Can Thanh Town in Can Gio district, and Vinhomes Grand Park in Long Binh ward of Thu Duc City.
A number of cultural activities will also take place during the occasion, including music performances and a series of celebrations held to mark the 131st birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
This is in addition to the 110th anniversary of President Ho's departure on a global journey for national salvation and the 45th anniversary of the day Saigon was officially named after the late President.
