USA Số người chết vì Covid-19 tại Mỹ vượt 585.000

Tính đến ngày 24/4, nước Mỹ ghi nhận hơn 585.000 người chết và hơn 32 triệu ca nhiễm COVID-19. Riêng số ca nhiễm của Mỹ cao gấp đôi so với số ca của nước đứng thứ 2, vốn đang phải gồng mình chống dịch là Ấn Độ. Mỹ hiện ghi nhận thêm gần 62.000 ca nhiễm mới mỗi ngày.



Giới chức y tế Mỹ nhận định, cuộc chiến chống SARS-CoV-2 tại nước này đang đi đúng hướng khi số ca nhiễm và tử vong tại Mỹ đều giảm trong tuần qua. Việc đẩy mạnh chiến dịch tiêm chủng vaccine trên toàn quốc giúp dịch bệnh dần được kiểm soát.



Mỹ đang xuất hiện tình trạng thừa vaccine nhưng thiếu người đi tiêm. Nhiều người dân hoài nghi về hiệu quả và tác dụng của các loại vaccine COVID-19. Tuần qua, mỗi ngày Mỹ tiêm thêm 3 triệu liều, con số này thấp hơn mức 4 triệu liều so với 2 tuần trước đó.

Các cố vấn tại Trung tâm kiểm soát và phòng chống dịch của Mỹ (CDC) cũng vừa bỏ phiếu đề xuất sử dụng trở lại vaccine ngừa COVID-19 Johnson & Johnson. Các thành viên trong ban cố vấn của CDC đã thống nhất rằng, lợi ích mà vaccine Johnson & Johnson mang lại lớn hơn rất nhiều so với nguy cơ phát triển cục máu đông rất hiếm gặp ở người tiêm loại vaccine này.
