Liên quan đến vụ việc, UBND quận Đống Đa (Hà Nội) cho hay, khoảng 00h25 phút ngày 4/4, cơ quan chức năng nhận được tin báo cháy nhà 311 phố Tôn Đức Thắng, phường Hàng Bột.

Lượng công an đã khẩn trương có mặt tại hiện trường, dập tắt đám cháy, cấp cứu người bị nạn, tiến hành khám nghiệm và tổ chức các biện pháp điều tra nguyên nhân vụ việc theo quy định.

Nhà bị cháy hình ống, cao 3 tầng, 1 tum, có mái lợp tôn hàn sắt, diện tích mặt sàn mỗi tầng khoảng 60m2, mặt tiền rộng khoảng 3,2m, có một lối ra vào duy nhất là cửa chính.

Hậu quả vụ hoả hoạn khiến 4 người tử vong, gồm: ông Nguyễn Thạc Thi (SN 1940; Nguyễn Ánh Hồng (SN 1981, hiện đang mang thai khoản 3 tháng tuổi - con gái của ông Thi); Đinh Hùng Vỹ (SN 1983 - là chồng của chị Hồng); Đinh Hà T.M. (SN 2011 - là con gái của vợ chồng chị Hồng).

Điều tra ban đầu xác định nhà số 311 phố Tôn Đức Thắng xảy ra cháy có 4 người đang sinh sống gồm ông Thi, chị Hồng, anh Vỹ và cháu M..

Hiện gia đình kinh doanh đồ sơ sinh (bỉm, sữa...) cho trẻ em, các mặt hàng bày bán được xếp trên các kệ tủ hàng đặt ở tầng 1 của ngôi nhà.

Các tầng 2, tầng 3 và tầng tum dùng làm nơi chứa hàng hóa kinh doanh và sinh hoạt của gia đình.

Sau khi phát hiện khói bốc lên từ nhà số 311 phố Tôn Đức Thắng, người dân xung quanh đã hô hoán và gọi điện đến trung tâm báo cháy của Công an Hà Nội.

Khoảng 3h40 cùng ngày, lực lương Công an đã dập tắt được đám cháy. 4h30, nhà chức trách tìm được các thi thể tại khu vực tầng tum.

Currently, the family sells newborns (diapers, milk ...) for children, and the items for sale are arranged on the shelves of the store on the first floor of the house.

The second, third and attic floors are used to store goods for business and family activities.

After detecting smoke rising from the house of 311 Ton Duc Thang street, the surrounding people cheered and called the fire alarm center of Hanoi Police.

At about 3:40 a.m. on the same day, the police force had extinguished the fire. At 4:30, authorities found the bodies in the attic area.
