Bầu cử tổng thống là cho toàn dân mỹ, nhưng Cộng ḥa sẽ rất sợ kết quả phiế bầu phổ thông toàn quốc v́ nếu dùng phương pháp cộng phiếu từng tiểu bang cho tổng phiếu phổ thông th́ cộng ḥa sẽ không được ḷng dân.

Cộng ḥa chỉ làm ra 30% GDP cho mỹ c̣n dân chủ làm ra tới 70% nhưng rất nhiều tiểu bang đỏ yếu kém kinh tế yêu thích cộng ḥa và không thích di dân, kỳ thị di dân.
