Arrow Vietnam confirms 7,930 COVID-19 cases as more than 10,000 recover

The country detected a further 7,930 COVID-19 infections across 56 localities, including 12 imported cases, on November 12, thereby pushing up the nationwide tally to 1,009,879, according to the Ministry of Health.


The number of daily cases also grew by 831 in comparison with the previous day.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest number of infections with 1,388, followed by the neighbouring provinces of Dong Nai with 813 and Binh Duong with 661.

Elsewhere, Hanoi registered a total of 176 new cases that were detected across 14 clusters of infection.

Of the daily total, approximately 4,180 infections were detected within the local community. A further 81 COVID-19 casualties were also reported over the past 24 hours, with half of them coming from Ho Chi Minh City, thereby raising the national COVID-19 death toll to 22,930, accounting for 2.3% of the total cases.

Compared to the world, the nation’s fatality count ranks 34th out of 223 countries and territories, while the number of deaths per one million people is 133rd out of 223 countries and territories. Compared to the rest of Asia, the nation’s death toll ranks 10th out of 49 countries and territories.

A total of 10,263 recoveries were reported on November 12 to raise the total number of patients given the all-clear to 856,211.

More than 96.5 million vaccine doses have now been administered to date, with over 32.8 million people having received two doses.

The average number of new COVID-19 cases recorded nationwide over the past week stands at 8,033 cases per day, with many localities using a series of field hospitals in order to be ready to rapidly respond to the pandemic.
