Arrow Two Hanoi hospital workers test positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus

Two healthcare workers of Hanoi-run Thanh Nhan hospital have tested positive for the virus while giving treatment to COVID-19 patients, according to a Hanoi health official.

However, they are not able to transmit the virus to others in the community, said Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Health at a meeting of the Municipal Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on June 3.

Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi Centre for Diseases Control also warned that the risk for virus transmission in the restricted area for COVID-19 patients is very high, and even small mistake could lead to virus infection.

Besides the two healthcare workers, 14 other people have been diagnosed with the virus from June 1 to 3. They are all F1 cases (in first-hand contact with COVID-19 patients) and in quarantine areas.

Currently, 48 locations in Hanoi remain in lockdown, affecting more than 7,700 residents.

As many as 1,583 people returning from Ho Chi Minh City, a coronavirus hotspot in Vietnam have made health declarations. Of them 1,288 people have tested negative.
