We Tried 6 Kinds of Edible Cookie Dough. Find Out What We Thought
Skip dipping into the bowl and give edible cookie doughs a chance! We tried six brands to find out which tastes like the real deal
When it comes to baking up a batch of my favorite cookies, sampling the dough is one of the best parts. Yes, I know it’s definitely not food-safe (find out how you can get sick from the stuff here), but it’s just so tempting! If only there was a way for me to get my cookie dough fix without it being bad for the ol’ belly…
Enter edible cookie doughs! Over the past few years, I’ve seen more and more of these safe-to-eat doughs pop up in grocery stores. They’ve got all the good stuff about cookie dough that I love—the chocolate chips, the brown sugar flavor and that gooey texture—but without the whole raw egg and raw flour issue. But how do these doughs stack up?
Well, me and a team of cookie fanatics got together to put six brands to the test to see just how much like the real thing these snackable doughs could be. For this test we tried the chocolate chip cookie flavors from Batterlicious, Big Dipper, The Cookie Dough Café, Doozie Bar, Edoughble and Sweet Megan. Check out our findings. (You might just discover a new brand to love!)
