I think if a prospective student's parents "donate" a wing or a building built in their name, that probably will get an applicant with lesser academic caliber in. However, I don't think the Obamas would do that. That would be damaging to their brand. Plus, both Barack and Michelle went to Harvard and became very successful attorneys. I don't think the genetic apple would fall far from that tree.
