Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei lost 6.5 kg in just 5 days with a strict diet similar to the Keto approach, which reduces starch intake, forcing the body to burn excess fat.

Liu Yifei's 5-day diet plan is structured as follows:

Day 1 (Monday – Egg Day): The diet consists entirely of eggs, starting with 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, followed by 3 scrambled eggs for both lunch and dinner.

Day 2 (Tuesday – Liquid Day): On this day, only sugar-free beverages are allowed, such as black coffee, fresh milk, sugar-free soy milk, sugar-free yogurt, or low-calorie soups like tomato egg soup or vegetable broth.

Day 3 (Wednesday – Meat Day): The focus is solely on meat, including beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, and seafood. The meats should be prepared simply, with minimal seasoning.

Day 4 (Thursday – Fruit Day): This day is dedicated to low-sugar fruits, such as tomatoes, apples, guava, blueberries, and strawberries. High-sugar fruits should be avoided.

Day 5 (Friday – Vegetable Day): The diet consists of non-starchy vegetables like broccoli, spinach, and cucumbers. These can be eaten cold, boiled, stir-fried, or in soups.

According to Dr. Yang Zhiwen from Xiaozhou Early Day Clinic, Liu Yifei's diet plan can be effective for "emergency weight loss" due to its strict calorie limitations. Dr. Yang explained that reducing caloric intake will inevitably result in weight loss. However, she cautioned that the low-carb nature of the diet could lead to dizziness and difficulty concentrating, particularly for individuals accustomed to a carbohydrate-rich diet, making this approach suitable only for short-term use.

To enhance the safety of the plan, Dr. Yang suggests incorporating a daily green smoothie that focuses on vegetables, low-sugar fruits, unsaturated fats, plant-based proteins, vitamins, and antioxidants. She recommends using unsweetened almond or soy milk instead of regular milk and adding flaxseeds or chia seeds for a boost of Omega-3 and fiber. It is advisable to avoid adding extra sugar or an excessive amount of fruit to the smoothie.
